Trilead has published a comparison of versions, but I think the most blatant limitation of Trilead VM Explorer free edition is the lack of a scheduler and command line interface. In the free version the scheduler is not enabled and you cannot access the executable via command line.
Yes, VM Explorer® can backup these VMs. Thin disk on ESX/ESXi server is based on file system, therefore, under certain circumstances, when a backup is performed full disk is backed up. It is possible to convert disk as thin after backup/restore process. When you configure a backup in backup setup dialogue switch to 'Files & Disks' tab and enable 'After backup convert disk as thin'. Please note: • if target server is set to 'same host as VM' thin disks are transferred directly as thin disk • if target server is an ESX/ESXi host thin disks are converted to thin after backup/restore process • if target server is not ESX/ESXi thin disks are backed up as full. Incremental backup for licensed ESXi host (not the free edition), with at least 'Essential' license, transfers and backups only used space and not full disk space. On the other hand incremental backup for ESXi free edition backups full disk space.
Please note: • the disk must be located on a VMFS volume (backing does not matter). Best Software To Use With Akai Mpk Mini Setup.

I have used Trilead VM Explorer for the past 2 years and the product has been perfect! Unfortunately, HP Enterprise got their grubby hands on it and immediately killed the product for me. Personal feelings about HP aside (and they are not good), the licensing cost increase imposed by HP after the acquisition is completely asinine!
My existing cost for Trileads VM Explorer has been $1500 for two sites annually. My new cost for two sites is $8000 annually! Editing my review to reflect the vendor response and the changes made to HPE VM Explorer product description. I will continue to update my review and increase/decrease the rating based on my license renewal experience that takes place in July. Hp 3326a service manual. Hi Tpyatt, My colleagues on the HPE VM Explorer team asked me to reply to you with the following information: Firstly, HPE are currently working to get control of this Spiceworks page so we can update the information on it since acquisition.
Secondly, as an existing customer prior to the acquisition, unlike the past where your renewal was basically a repurchase of the product at 70% of the price, under HPE we honor all existing customers unlimited licensing models and renewals are now just 18% (for 9x5 support) of your original purchase price. Not only is the cost less than before for you, but you will also get enhanced support offerings as we are currently training and enabling more people so we can offer telephone, web forum and email support (it was just email in the past). Please contact the sales team and they can provide you a renewal quote at the new reduced rate. We also just released version 6.1 of HPE VM Explorer, enhancing the web interface, adding support for split-tape backups, ability to copy/clone scheduled tasks and support for VMware VDDK 6.0.2. We hope you like it. Feel free to PM me and I can get you directly in touch with them.
